I used to collect My Little Ponies up to a couple of years ago when I sold the remains of my collection after giving some of it away to family. I only sold them as I haven't the room to keep and collect them although I did still enjoy having them. I would've loved to have kept them for when I have kids, but space and finances were a priority at the time.

Last year I came upon the custom pony phenomanan(?) and became intrigued. I researched some sites and bought the bits needed to start. I got some bait ponies from Ebay and began to experiment. My first achievement was to take two bait Lemon Drops and making a good one from the two. It cost about £1.00 for the ponies and less than an hour of my time to doctor the two into one. I sold it on Ebay for £6.00 !

I then restored a Peppermint Crunch and Apple Jack and sold them successfully too.

Then I decided to attempt a full customisation of a bait Majesty.I started by removing her head and hair, then cleaned her upusing nail polish remover taking off the faded symbols. I painted her using layers of acrylic paint. I used glitter on her hooves and symbol, then rehaired her using kanekalon hair. Only last week did I get round to getting some acrylic sealant ! I sealed her a few days ago and now she is on Ebay looking for a place in someones collection. I don't expect she'll go for much, if anything, but we all got to start somewhere.

She is called "Nite - Mare" a pony who takes ponies dreams and turns them into nightmares. She isn't a bad pony as nightmares have there place just as dreams do. Some times she acts as a warning to bad things that may happen, or merely represent a ponies fears that needs to be overcome.

My Custom MLP sold for £2.20 with 4 bids! I am suprised. I'm well pleased and am now doing some more to sell. Watch this space!

I am working on several ponies now, 2 are for my friends kids, one is based on an X-Men character, 3 are only just started and my 2nd custom to be sold on Ebay is now finished and on auction. Her name is Violet Twinkle and I think she is quite pretty ! The X-Men one will be on soon. . .

Violet Twinkle was sold on the second attempt and has gone to a good home. I also managed last weekend to sell my Dark Phoenix Custom pony on her 3rd attempt. I thought as the third X-MEN movie was recently released and Dark Phoenix was a prominent character in it, the pony may be more successful at selling this time round. I have run out of paints so my pony preening is on hold until I can aquire the funds to re-stock. I have started 2 more unicorn customs, one a boy, and am hoping to do a family of customs. Watch this space !
